In this book I am going to introduce you to the most powerful financial vehicle available anywhere in the world today, but first I’d like to tell you a story.

This is the story about a guy named Mark, who until a few years ago was a hard working guy, supporting a family and trying to keep the wolves away from his door.  Now, through a stroke of good fortune and his willingness to be open-minded, he is a multi-millionaire with no worries in the world.

You see Mark was wandering through a vacant lot one day.  He was deeply in thought about his bleak financial picture when he tripped.  As he lay on the ground, he noticed a shiny rock.  It looked like gold.  His first thought was no way it could be gold.  Without much further thought he shoved the rock into his pocket and walked off to meet a couple friends for a beer.

He showed the rock to his friends and they just laughed at the idea that he had found real gold in a vacant lot; it was preposterous.  Mark agreed.  Later that evening, Mark arrived home and showed the rock to his wife.  She agreed that it did appear to be gold and suggested they take it to her Uncle Jerry who was a jeweler.  That night Mark had trouble sleeping . . . what if it was true?

The next day they presented the rock to Jerry, who verified that it was gold – very high quality gold to be exact.  Mark and his wife rushed back to the vacant lot to look for more and found it.  They began checking with the neighbors to see who owned the lot.  No one knew.  After several days of research, Mark determined that the city owned the lot and had been trying to unload it.  He bought it cheap.

Mark quit his job, sold the gold that he had found and borrowed enough additional money to hire an excavating company and they began to dig.  After two weeks, there was no more gold.  Mark was running out of money and time.  All of his friends and family thought he was crazy.  Even his optimistic wife was beginning to question.  In fact Mark wasn’t sure about his decisions.  Oh, what a fool he was!  He was going to lose everything chasing a crazy dream.  Just then the door flew open and in rushed an excited foreman.  They had struck gold.  BIG TIME GOLD!

As it turned out, it was the biggest gold strike ever in the United States.  Mark was an instant multi-millionaire.  In fact, there was more gold than he could possibly mine.  Being a generous person, Mark rushed out to offer a piece of the mine to his family and friends.  All they had to do was make a small investment in the work clothes and equipment and they could have all the gold they could dig.

Mark was amazed that most of them turned him down.  He heard every imaginable excuse – no money, no time, no interest, couldn’t see themselves digging in a dirty old mine, weren’t the right kind of people, didn’t have the ability, and some didn’t even believe that the gold was real.
